Hello there! My name is Ferell, like Will Ferrell. I'm a Hufflepuff that calls Las Vegas home, am married to my best friend, a mom to a adorable baby boy, and consider myself an award-winning dog mom!
Before pageantry and majoring in Communications at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, I was terrified of public speaking. Through uncomfortable high school presentations, joining the high school debate team, and competing in my first National American Miss pageant, I discovered a newfound confidence and passion for the spoken and written word. After competing in various pageant systems and being a titleholder, I went on to mentor young girls, judge pageants, and even direct a successful local within the Miss America Organization. I've put my marketing and communication skills to work in the nonprofit sector and small business world.
Pageantry is more than walking on a stage in beautiful gowns. Pageantry is developing communication skills, discipline, friendships, and learning to be confident with who you are. My favorite aspect is seeing these young girls and women succeed and find something within themselves that they didn't know they had. It is so important for pageant contestants to be true to themselves, so I never tell them what to say, but rather provide them with the tools to best deliver their opinions.
