Back in October I married my best friend, and about a week later we took off to travel. We spent a week each in Edinburgh, Scotland, London, and Paris. It was absolutely amazing! I'll be sharing blog posts on different places we visited. :]
This blog post in particular is for Alnwick Castle (pronounced An-wick), which is actually in Northumberland, England but it was a short train ride from Edinburgh, Scotland. Potterheads will totally love this blog, since Alnwick Castle is one of the spots where Harry Potter movies filmed. Some of these photos are from my phone, and some are from my camera. I hope you enjoy!
We took a train to Alnsmouth that had an actual trolley cart (Potter reference)! The town was adorable and tiny. The train ride had beautiful views of the countryside.
We found out that the Duke of Edinburgh and his family actually live in this castle for almost half of the year (when it isn't open to visitors)! We couldn't take photos of some of the best spots inside the castle to protect the families privacy, but we did find out that there are two American students from Wisconsin that get to live in the castle as part of their college education. Totally jealous!
